Functional yoga is about understanding biomechanics  of the body, how to move more efficiently to support us in our everyday movements, work on mobility and strength and to avoid injuries in our yoga practice. Each week, we will focus on a specific part of the body - adding mobility and strengthening the area using yoga postures and breathing techniques.

Most yoga movements are based on form instead of function so having a clear understanding which muscles to use, rather than laying in the joints, adding unnecessary stress on them, paving the way to injuries. Having a clarity of how to move the body efficiently makes it a therapeutic practice. After all, isn't that why we come to our mat?
